It may sound like sad news, but it's not. I started 2 businesses last year- one was based on 2 years of intensive study (massage) and the other was based on a single class and a lot of interest in the subject (web development). While waiting for my California massage license I found a great entry-level gig in web development that seems to open another door daily. It's fun and challenging and all the other buzzwords associated with a fulfilling career.
Is my massage career over? Honestly, I have no idea. I love the field and hope to do something with all that training, but in the immediate future I'm having a lot of fun learning as much as I can about this other, accidental career of mine.
Thanks to all the people that helped along the way. Sometimes old saws are dead on: life really is what happens while you're busy making other plans, or in my case, life is what happens while you're waiting for California to certify you as a massage therapist.
